Dust
It is hard to believe that the government is going to try to regulate farm dust. Have these people ever been outside of a city. As far as I know, a little rain is the best way to regulate dust - unless they have figured out a way to stop the wind from blowing.
Foundation Work
We had to use lots of extra water to get our foundation on our new site to compact this week. I guess it is the weather. We have also had to find alternative water sources since our regular ponds where we fill the water trucks are drying up.
Good Advice
In the business world, everyone is paid in two coins: cash and experience. Take the experience first; the cash will come later. ~Harold Geneen
Finally
Some parts of the state have actually gotten a little rain the last couple of days. The key word here is little but since we haven't had any in months, anything will help. The drought in the state is so bad that they estimate it will take fifteen to twenty of inches of rain to get us back on track. I don't see that happening. At least it won't happen unless there is a dramatic shift in the weather patterns.
Helicopters
We had another fire northeast of town today. This one was pretty big and they even called in helicopters to help us. I know I've said it before but here is not going to be much of this country that is not blackened if we don't get a change in the weather soon.
Volunteer
I went to the local volunteer fire department meeting tonight to see if I can help out some more. Lots of these guys have been fighting fires five or six nights a week since last spring and are really tired. Maybe I can help them out some.
Country
Lots of this country is literally burning up. We had another fire in the area today. We managed to contain it mostly to a pasture area, but it seems like there is at least one fire a day and some days there are several.
