Football

First full weekend of football should be fun. College games today and pro tomorrow. It will be interesting to see all of the new players on the new teams and how they do. It should be fun.

Home for Sale

Have a home for sale in Fort Davis, Texas. It has a beautiful view of the Davis Mountains and overlooks the Fort Davis National Historic Site. It is also near McDonald Observatory which is known world wide for its "Star Parties" and telescopes. More info on the home can be found here.

Cooler

Cooler weather has been really welcome the past few days. We have even had night time lows in the 50's. That is over a fifty point swing between highs and lows in the last couple of weeks. I guess that enforces the saying to be careful what you wish for................

Homes

They are saying that over 1,400 homes have burned in the fires in the last few days. That is pretty awful. Of course, even more than that have burned in earlier fires this year. It has really been a devastating year.

Fish Fry

The annual fish fry was a big success. Lots of friends to visit with and for sure plenty of food. Everyone did their part and things went very smoothly. The turn out may have been a little lower this year. I guess that could be because of the state of the economy. But all of us that were there really had a good time - and lots of food.
